Generating the export file
Previous  Top  Next

The first step in using the TipLink Reporter is to generate the tooltip export file from your application.

This is easy through the use of the TipLink Reporter Utility Template.

Be sure that the TipLink template is registered then follow these steps:

1.With the application you want analyzed loaded, click APPLICATION in the Clarion IDE
2.Click Template Utility (you can also shortcut to this step with CTRL+U)
3.Type TipLink and the selector should move to the TipLink:Reporter template
4.Click TipLink:Reporter to start the template

The XML tooltip data file will be created and the TipLink.exe program will be automatically started. It will load the file generated by the utility template and do an import and analysis of the file.

This file will be the name of the application and a .TUF extension.
Example: Myprogram.TUF (TUF stands for TipLink Utility File)

Note: This file must be reloaded whenever you want to examine the data. This is by design to make sure that you are always looking at the most recent copy of the export file. You can rerun the export at any time (the file will be replaced).
