You can now edit the contents of all of your Ezhelp data directly from the TipLink Reporter!
This is a tremendous time saver and it reduces the possibility of your missing controls as you edit them in your application.
You can use the TipLink Navigator for Ezhelp to display the actual content of your Ezhelp file (just like it would be in your own program), then you can edit or format any control as needed.
Since TipLink Reporter can filter your view to show ALL PROCEDURES (default) or any ONE PROCEDURE, it is easy!
Note: Be sure to IMPORT your Ezhelp data or use TipLink Reporter to create one before you start this process.
To use the TipLink Navigator to display the Ezhelp data, follow these steps:
If you want to view only the Ezhelp data for a certain procedure, select it from the drop list:
You will then see a screen similar to the one below:
As any control is selected from the browse, the procedure name, control name and control type are displayed.
The name of the Ezhelp data file (as specified in your application) is also shown:
To display the Ezhelp data using the Ezhelp system, highlight a record in the browse,
then click the DISPLAY button:
The Ezhelp tip for the selected item will open in its own window.
(Note: if the window does not have focus - you may have to click the button twice)
If you click the DISPLAY button again, the Ezhelp window will close automatically.
HINT:
If you want to see the next (or previous) entry displayed in the Ezhelp system, just use the TipLink Navigator Next or Previous buttons while the Ezhelp window is still open...
The Ezhelp window will update to the proper entry.
(Note: if the window does not have focus - you may have to click the Navigation button twice the first time)
Editing the Ezhelp data
To edit the currently displayed Ezhelp data, press ALT+E (while the Ezhelp window is open):
If you need to use the Ezhelp window formatter, press ALT+C (while the Ezhelp window is open):
Note: Information on how to use these editing and formatting systems are discussed in the Ezhelp documentation and as such are beyond the scope of this help file.
After you finish your editing or formatting, you can move on to the next control using the TipLink Navigation system.
(Note: if the window does not have focus - you may have to click the Navigation button twice the first time)
Viewing your Ezhelp changes in TipLink Reporter
As you make editing or formatting changes to the Ezhelp data - those changes are being made to the actual Ezhelp data file. In order to see the new changes in the TipLink Reporter, you need to re-run the EZImport process.
